Don't weigh yourself every day while dieting.

1. Weighing yourself daily is inaccurate. A person's weight can fluctuate by 2-3 pounds throughout the day. This includes undigested food in the stomach and small intestine, urine, and residue in the large intestine, as well as water loss through sweating and blood dilution after drinking water. These changes cause significant errors in daily weighing and cannot accurately reflect changes in body fat.

2. Don't trust bathroom scales. New bathroom scales typically have an error of 0.5-1 jin (0.25-0.5 catties) and a sensitivity of 0.5 jin. Scales used for a longer period can have an error of 2-3 jin. Floor scales on the market are often uncalibrated, so their errors are also significant. I once even found a scale with an error of 2 kg! Only medical scales calibrated by professionals are relatively accurate, but they are expensive.

As can be seen from the above two points, it is ridiculous to be so concerned about a difference of one or two pounds in weight every day.

3. Weighing yourself every day is unnecessary. People trying to lose weight are often impatient and hope to lose several pounds every day. In reality, even if you don't eat or drink anything, the energy you burn is only equivalent to about four ounces of fat, which is still within the margin of error on a scale. How could there be a noticeable change in a single day? The so-called two or three pound changes you see are nothing more than water weight and food residue in your stomach. What's there to be happy about?

4. Weight doesn't necessarily represent weight loss success. Many rapid weight loss methods actually cause the body to lose protein and water (for every gram of protein lost, 2.8 grams of water are lost). Because this loss rate is much faster than the rate of fat breakdown, the resulting weight loss is a false result. Many people also experience a slight increase in weight in the short term due to increased muscle density, firmer tissues, and increased internal organ weight through exercise, but this improves their physique. Wouldn't it be a shame to perceive this positive change as weight rebound and become anxious and distressed?

5. Weighing yourself every day severely impacts your mood. Because people weigh themselves daily, they unconsciously associate their emotions with the number on the scale, causing mood swings and significantly affecting metabolic stability. Many girls become devastated when they see their weight return, resorting to extreme measures like fasting, binge eating, or even despair and depression, leading to unnecessary worries and making it impossible to maintain a consistent weight loss plan.

Countless people become frustrated and depressed from weighing themselves day after day; countless people give up halfway through; countless people violate scientific principles in pursuit of results, only to damage their physical and mental health and regret it later. This little scale can sometimes be a demon, controlling girls' emotions. It's time to constantly remind ourselves to break free from it!

You can weigh yourself during your weight loss journey, but at most once a week, always on a weekend morning after a bowel movement and before meals. It's better to weigh yourself once a month, on a morning after your period ends, because your body retains water and gains 2-3 pounds in the week before menstruation. Therefore, by working diligently and maintaining a calm mindset, and weighing yourself regularly each month, you'll get a more accurate reflection of your weight and be pleasantly surprised.
