"If you're also overweight, you'll understand that today's overweight people, especially women, aren't carefree and plump. On the contrary, most are fragile, sensitive, and often depressed and self-pitying!" Today, we're sharing the blood, sweat, and tears of a woman who lost 20 pounds.

This episode's main character: Tian Tian

Occupation: College student

Weight before weight loss: 140 jin (approximately 70 catties)

Weight loss results: Lost 20 pounds – still on the way!

The biggest difficulty I encountered in losing weight: I used to lose weight blindly.

My photo was labeled "Born Ugly Girl," so I wrote myself an apology letter.

The real commitment to losing weight that I made ingrained in my mind and heart stemmed from my first day of school. I wanted to take some photos to show my friends on the new campus, so I used a new classmate's digital camera. She was a very thin and slender girl. After taking the photos, she uploaded them directly to her social media, saying she'd add them to my album later. A few days later, we were online together, and I noticed that all my photos on her social media were titled "Born Ugly." The photos showed me covered in flab (I was almost 140 pounds at the time), and seeing myself smiling so brightly made me feel ashamed. Yes! I was dissatisfied with the actions of that self-proclaimed naturally beautiful person, but even more so, I felt deeply resentful! I felt incredibly guilty towards myself. Why did I allow myself to endure all this: ridicule and inferiority? What right did I have to let my radiant smile be paired with such a bloated figure because of my gluttony? Later, I wrote a diary entry that felt like an apology letter, apologizing to myself. I feel so sorry for myself, from the time I gained weight (I was still ranked 101 in the first semester of my junior year of high school!) until now, for all the emotional damage I've caused myself! I truly want to say "I'm sorry" to myself from the bottom of my heart!

My weight loss diet

From that moment on, I resolved to lose weight. I was determined to be even better than her! My weight loss method was old-fashioned, boiled down to two words: perseverance. I don't advocate losing several pounds in a few weeks; that's pure self-torture! Except for the first week after my period when I skipped dinner, I ate three normal meals a day, but only until I was about half full. Also, I think the first thing you need to do to lose weight is to have the will to constantly remember the word "weight loss." Some people think you can eat whatever you want for breakfast, but I disagree. Weight loss is actually a process of forming a healthy eating habit. Eating less at every meal and every time of day is the key to successful weight loss sooner. This is how you form a habit and get rid of the painful period of dieting.

Also, don't easily try new foods, and don't eat snacks. Actually, there are some things you'll forget if you don't eat them! Your appetite will also decrease during the dieting process, but hold on and don't pick up your favorite foods like potato chips halfway through, or you'll suffer again!
