The experience of an ugly duckling who quickly lost 40 pounds

Not everyone is born beautiful. But with hard work, even an "ugly duckling" can transform herself! Here's a great example; let's learn from her experience!

Let me introduce myself first. I'm a high school student, and I'll be a junior after the summer vacation. I'm 17 years old this year. My height is about 1.61 meters without shoes, and about 1.63 or 1.64 meters with shoes. I started losing weight during the summer vacation after my second year of junior high school, but I didn't lose weight continuously; it was in stages. So far, I've lost 40 pounds. I have a small frame but a lot of fat. The reason I'm fat is entirely due to eating, especially since around the third grade of elementary school. When it comes to food, I can eat anything. Here's a photo of me in preparatory class, in my first year of junior high school. I was chubby, but not severely so.

Enough with the chit-chat, let me now share my weight loss journey in stages.

Phase 1: Summer vacation of 2007 (72kg~65kg)

Finally, during the summer vacation after my second year of junior high, I started my weight loss journey. It just so happened that I had to take the high school entrance exam in my third year, and physical education was also included in my grades. Although I was the physical education representative in elementary school and was fairly good at sports, being overweight wouldn't be good for my physical education scores. For the sake of grades and beauty, I was determined to give it my all! I'm also very grateful for the support of my classmates; their constant encouragement gave me a lot of motivation.

The main weight loss methods at that time were as follows:

Breakfast: I eat normally, but avoid high-calorie foods. It mainly consists of unsweetened oatmeal, low-fat yogurt, skim milk, whole-wheat bread, and hard-boiled eggs, rotating these every few days. These foods might be a bit monotonous and not very tasty, but they always make me feel full in the morning, and I'm satisfied. ^^

Lunch: I don't have many restrictions on lunch, but the portion size is noticeably smaller. I usually only eat about half a bowl of rice, and vegetables are a must—any kind, preferably leafy greens. For meat, I only eat fish and shrimp, and they can't be high in oil to avoid gaining weight. I basically avoid other meat dishes. In addition, I should also supplement with a moderate amount of soy products.

Dinner: I usually don't eat dinner, except for a tiny bit of vegetables occasionally. Remember, only a tiny bit.

My approach may be similar to the "no food after noon" diet circulating online, but my diet is not as absolute.
