Weight loss tips: Avoid eating during these "false hunger" moments

Before I knew it, I had eaten so much food, and my weight was bound to go up. I really didn't expect that! Hunger can be fake too! Some people might say, how could you not even tell if you're really hungry or just pretending? If you don't believe me, take a look at these different "fake hunger" states. Have you experienced any of them? Come and see!

1. Feeling extremely hungry before going to bed

In most cases, the hunger you feel before going to bed at night is not actually hunger, but rather because your body's cells are dehydrated, causing your brain to send out incorrect signals.

Recommendation: Drink a glass of green fruit and vegetable juice before bed. This will not only replenish your fluids and satisfy your hunger, but also release fructose, which will help relax your nerves, promote sleep, and help you get better rest.

2. I feel hungry again right after eating.

Some people feel hungry right after eating, without a sense of fullness, and crave sweets or other sweets. This is actually a type of "false hunger." It may be due to a monotonous diet lacking fiber, protein, or healthy fats that create a feeling of satiety, leading to a drop in blood sugar after meals and causing a "false hunger." If you eat like this every day, it's hard not to gain weight.

Suggestion: You can eat some healthy snacks, such as a piece of fresh fruit, a handful of nuts, cheese, or peanut butter.

3. I especially crave food when I'm in a bad mood.

When negative emotions such as fear, anxiety, stress, and loneliness arise, they can interfere with and disrupt the complex nervous system that controls appetite, ultimately leading to abnormal appetite and a false sense of hunger. Therefore, many people, especially Taoist priests, habitually eat when they are in a bad mood as a way to relieve stress.

Suggestion: Try taking a walk, writing in your journal, listening to music, calling a friend, chewing mint gum, reading, going to the library or museum when you're in a bad mood. You can also go for a run; when fatigue hits, you won't think about these things anymore. Let them go with the sweat! These positive things may help you stay away from false hunger.

IV. Fatigue and Hunger After Exercise

Many people feel tired after exercising, but mistakenly confuse this fatigue with hunger and then overeat. In fact, the secretion of "hunger hormones," which control appetite, is not directly related to exercise itself.

Recommendation: To relieve fatigue after exercise, you only need to replenish certain nutrients. For example, choose chicken or other lean meats, as the protein in them can replenish the energy consumed by muscles after exercise. You can also choose brown rice or other whole grains. Avoid eating junk food such as hamburgers.

5. Eating while watching TV may be due to boredom and a desire to eat.

Many people enjoy eating while watching TV, only to realize afterwards that they've unknowingly consumed a large bag of potato chips or a pile of sunflower seeds. This might be because the TV programs are so captivating that you don't notice what you're eating, or it could be due to boredom. Some experts say that finding something to eat when bored is actually one of the instincts.

Recommendation: Before watching TV, assess how hungry you are to decide whether and how much snacks to prepare. Also, try to keep your hands busy while watching TV. You can do crafts, flip through picture books or magazines, or get up and move around briefly during commercials. These activities will help reduce your food intake and calorie consumption.
