A healthy diet is crucial: Our lives are fast-paced now, and many people don't consider what they eat. Since starting my weight loss journey on Mint.com, I've begun to pay attention to the foods we eat and learn to combine them effectively. I often hear people say, "I'm a carnivore, I have to eat meat every day." I want to tell them: Yes, you can eat meat, but you need to pay attention to the quantity and eat it at lunchtime. We need a balanced diet every day. Ideally, I should eat one egg, one bag of milk or yogurt, fruit, at least two kinds of vegetables, soy products, and finally, a staple food, preferably porridge.

Dinner must be finished before 8:00 PM; I usually finish around 7:30 PM. You can have a snack of fruit about half an hour later.

Choose exercises that are easy to stick to; even the best exercises will hinder your weight loss efforts if they're difficult to maintain. Start exercising every night at 9:30 PM. I consistently do 5 minutes of jumping jacks, about 500 repetitions. Then I do stretching—a full-body stretch—to improve your body's definition. Hold each stretch for at least 10 seconds.

Then comes targeted exercises. For Chinese women, it's hard to slim down the waist and thighs. We can twist our waist, hula hoop (you must do this for about 30 minutes, otherwise it won't be effective), air cycling, etc. If it's the calves, there's a very simple method: put your legs against the wall at a 90-degree angle to your body (for about 20 minutes).

Finally, you need to do some cool-down exercises. What I do every day is massage my stomach to help with digestion, until it's red. I feel completely relaxed before going to sleep. This takes about 40-50 minutes each day. You can even do it while watching TV, it's very quick.

Remedies: We often have a lot of social engagements, which can disrupt our weight loss plans. Therefore, we need to learn how to remedy these situations. For example, if you eat too much at lunch, eat less at dinner. If you eat too much at night, stay up a little later, or try to replace it with an apple meal the next day.
