I've loved sweets since I was little, especially chocolate. My parents only have me as their precious daughter, so they indulged me in everything. By middle school, I weighed 138 pounds, but I was too young to pay much attention. In high school, the workload increased, and my mother would give me a late-night snack after evening self-study to ensure I got enough nutrition. By my senior year physical exam, I was 1.61 meters tall and weighed 169 pounds!

What truly made me determined to lose weight was an incident that happened when I first entered university. My department, Civil Engineering at Yantai University, had a large male-to-female ratio. When we first enrolled, many upperclassmen would take the opportunity to approach us female students. Once, we went on a trip to Kunyu Mountain with our dorm mates. After getting off the bus, I discovered that 10 out of the 11 girls in our class had their luggage carried by the boys, leaving me alone to drag my heavy bag back to the dorm. Among the girls in my class, I was definitely not the ugliest, but I was the fattest! After crying for a while, I vowed to lose weight!

Some people say the most fundamental way to lose weight is through dieting, so I created a diet plan for myself: a glass of milk in the morning, two ounces of rice and half a portion of vegetables for lunch, and only fruit for dinner. To avoid the awkward situation of watching others feast while I'm left with meager rations, I always found a secluded place to eat alone. I stuck to this for four days, and during those four days, I dreamed every night of my favorite chicken legs, ham, chocolate... Finally, on the fifth day, I fainted from hunger during PE class.

After this experience, I no longer believe in dieting for weight loss. I think that method might work for girls who aren't very heavy and usually eat little, but I usually eat a lot, so suddenly fasting would be too much for me. I started drinking slimming tea, initially Ninghong, which gave me diarrhea every day but didn't help me lose weight. Later, I switched to another brand. Although I had to endure getting up to pee in the middle of the night every day, after two months, I went from 167 pounds to 162 pounds. However, drinking slimming tea brought significant side effects; my face broke out in acne, so I stopped drinking it.

I stumbled upon an article in a book about how dancing could help with weight loss, which was perfect for me, as I'm a huge dance enthusiast. At the school's weekend dances, everyone was dancing gracefully in pairs, while I, the chubby girl, was largely ignored. Then the student council president came over and invited me to dance. But after just one song, he was panting and exhausted, saying I was too fat to carry him. To make up for it, I promised to treat him to a late-night snack and asked him to be my regular dance partner to help me lose weight, which he agreed to. Although I sometimes sweat profusely, I never feel tired at all, unlike the exhausting feeling of doing aerobics. The results are surprisingly good; it's the most enjoyable and effective weight loss method I've ever tried.

After a few months, my weight dropped to an unprecedented 116 pounds, and my figure was much better than before.
